Common questions.

Is Cimpathy a replacement for therapy?

No. Cimpathy is a self-assessment companion built from the same instruments therapists use, but it doesn't diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. If your screening suggests you'd benefit from a professional, the app says so and helps you find one.

Where is my data stored?

By default: only on your device, in an encrypted local database. If you opt into cloud sync, it's encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your BIP-39 recovery phrase — we cannot read it.

What happens if I'm in crisis?

If our crisis detector flags anything — anywhere in the app — you're routed to a dedicated screen with your country's hotlines, your saved safety plan, and a one-tap "call now." The AI companion never tries to handle a crisis itself. And we never show ads or upsells on these screens.

Can I use Cimpathy without signing up?

Yes. The app creates an anonymous local account on first launch. You only need to sign up if you want cross-device sync. Everything else works without an email.

What languages are supported?

10 languages at launch: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic (RTL). Crisis hotlines for 55 countries.

How do you make money?

$4.99/month Premium subscription, full stop. No ads. No data brokers. No "wellness partner" referral kickbacks. If we ever change that, we'll tell you before — not after.
